Tigers - a new era begins |

2000 |
||
| Season 2000 was a very challenging and rewarding year for players, coaching staff and officials involved with the Balmain Tigers.
This year we saw the Joint Venture between the Western Suburbs Magpies and Balmain Tigers and the emergence of Wests Tigers into the NRL competition. We chose to run our First Division and Flegg as stand alone teams and the club fielded four sides this year: First Division, Jersey Flegg, SG Ball and Harold Matthews. Jersey Flegg finished the year in 7th spot after playing Western Suburbs Magpies in a quarter final at Belmore Oval. Our First Division finished in equal 8th spot, but missed out on a Semi-Final spot. Overall in the NSWRL Club Champion Tigers finished in 5th place. 2000 also saw the launch of "Tiger, Tiger Burning Bright", a glowing account of the history of the Balmain Tigers. |

2001 |
||
| The year 2001 saw many young and talented players pass into our First Division, Jersey Flegg and SG Ball sides.
First Division made the finals in 3rd position, which was very promising for the future of the club, as well as having several players from the team graduate into the First Grade squad during the season. The final six weeks of competition was a dream run for the Balmain side with six consecutive wins which comfortably put them into the finals. Unfortunately, the hot-streak ended for Camroux's (Coach) side in the second round of finals when they suffered a loss to Parramatta in what was a very close battle. Despite not reaching the finals, Jersey Flegg coach, Allen Hedger was more than happy with the team's commitment throughout the entire season. Best & Fairest awards went to Matt Gillard (First Division), Leigh Bowman (Jersey Flegg), Dean Halatau (SG Ball) and Franco Kmet (Harold Matthews). 2001 would see John Chalk not stand for re-election for the role of Chairman of the Balmain Tigers Rugby League Football Club (1996 - 2001). |

2002 |
||
| 2002 began with a new Chairman, David Trodden and the season was met with many difficulties. On the field our First Division and Jersey Flegg suffered under the weight of significant injuries. At one stage, we had up to 30 players missing from play. By contrast, the performance and success of our junior teams were outstanding. Both the SG Ball and Harold Matthews team qualified for final rounds of their competitions. Our under 14 Development team toured the Far North Coast and, for the first time, were undefeated on tour.
Three players achieved either State of Australian representation in their respective age groups and the success of the Juniors promises much for the future. Their success also reflects credit upon David Kelly and Paul Heptonstall. Tigers were honoured with the following awards for the Balmain District: TWT SG Ball Player of the Year: Damien Brauman TWT Harold Matthews Players of the Year: Mark Bentwitch Rookie of the Year: Bryan Dickson Clubman of the Year: Steve Leslie and Eric Goddard |
