WESTS TIGERS BOARD ANNOUNCE NEW CEO TO REPLACE STEVE NOYCE

Chairman of the Wests Tigers, David Trodden, today announced Scott Longmuir will become Chief Executive Officer of the Wests Tigers upon the departure of current CEO, Steve Noyce.

"Scott Longmuir is a very experienced sports administrator who has achieved some outstanding results in his role as our General Manager of Sales and Marketing over the past two and a half years,’’ Mr Trodden said.

"After an extensive process relating to this very important appointment, Scott received the unanimous support from our Board of Directors and shareholders to take over the role of CEO.”

Mr Longmuir said it was a great honour to be appointed to the role of CEO of Wests Tigers.

"The club has such a proud history with 200 years of passionate support from Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers, but more importantly, I believe we have such a bright future,’’ Mr Longmuir said.

"We are on the cusp of an exciting new era of sustained success both on and off the field.

"I am really looking forward to driving that success and taking the club to the next level.”

Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens welcomed the appointment of Longmuir to the CEO role.

"We have worked very hard over the past couple of years to develop the special culture which we have at Wests Tigers,’’ Sheens said.

"Scott has been a part of that and I am glad we will see a continuation of that culture.”

Mr Trodden praised outgoing CEO, Steve Noyce, saying he leaves Wests Tigers in a very healthy state.

"The enormity of his contribution to Wests Tigers will never be underestimated by me,’’ Mr Trodden said.

"He took over the club in difficult circumstances and under his leadership, the club won a premiership in 2005 and continues to produce some of the most exciting young players in the game.

"Steve leaves the club in its best ever financial position, with the best crowd support in Sydney and the best performing merchandise program in Sydney, as well as fantastic corporate support.”

Steve Noyce will continue in his role as CEO until shortly after the end of the current rugby league season.

"Scott and Steve will work together over the next three months to ensure a smooth transition of duties,’’ Mr Trodden added.
