STARLIGHT FOUNDATION VISIT

On Saturday 20th September a number of girls from Balmain Junior Cheerleaders visited Westmead Children's Hospital and performed for Starlight Children's Foundation.

The girls did a dance and then did a cheerleading demonstration where patients were involved in the activity. One particular patient who captured everyone's heart was a young 7 year old boy named Patrick. Patrick was born with a medical condition that has seen him hospitalised for the past 7 years. Patrick and his mother travel from Grafton (Northern NSW) to Westmead on a regular basis and have long stays in hospital. Patrick was real hit with everyone and captured everyone's heart. At the end of the performance the girls handed everyone show bags.

It is situations like this that makes us all aware how lucky we all are and it also made our girls appreciate what they take for granted.

The girls who represented Balmain did a great job and were asked to come back and perform again. We are planning our next visits and this will be ongoing as apart from cheerleading the girls will be involved with the community and charity.
