BALMAIN Junior Cup teams dented their finals hopes after disappointing losses to the Roosters last Friday night at Leichhardt Oval.

The Roosters posted a 32-18 triumph over the U/18 Tigers in S.G Ball Cup and a 20-8 win over the U/16 Tigers in Harold Matthews Cup action.

Bennett Wheelhouse, Abe Matar and T Amone scored tries for the Tiger cubs in S.G Ball with Curtis Wilson booting three goals.

Balmain are walking a finals tightrope and need to roll Canberra in the ACT this Saturday to stay in the hunt.

This week’s Players’ Player awards, thanks to Castelmola, went to Zayn Sluvinsky (Harold Matthews) and Lachlan Ilias (SG Ball).
