Tigers Rep Weekend Selections

Congratulations to the great number of Tigers selected for this weekend’s NRL Representative Weekend games.

Balmain Tigers and Wests Tigers are heavily represented across the ten teams taking part this weekend.

There are three players from Balmain selected in the NSW City Origin team, with Curtis Sironen (Dundas Shamrocks & North Ryde Hawks), David Gower (Holy Cross Rhinos) and Jake Marketo (Holy Cross Rhinos) all in the side.

Moses Suli, a 2016 Balmain Tigers SG Ball graduate, has been selected to make his Test debut for Tonga in their clash with Fiji. On the opposition side will be Balmain junior products Kane Evans (Leichhardt Wanderers) and Eloni Vunakece (Holy Cross Rhinos & Leichhardt Wanderers), as well as Wests Tigers flyer Kevin Naiqama, who will captain the side.

Former Balmain Tiger and Wests Tiger Rod Griffin has also been selected for his 11th Test for Papua New Guinea, while Esan Marsters (Holy Cross College) has been selected in the Cook Islands squad.

Wests Tigers forward Sauaso Sue will play for Soama against England, who have selected former Wests Tigers premiership winner and Balmain Tiger Chris Heighington. Wests Tigers lockĀ Elijah Taylor has also been included in the New Zealand after injuries forced a number of changes.
