Vale - June Maguire

Mar 11, 2017 | By Tigers

Balmain Tigers are deeply saddened at the passing of long serving and loyal club volunteer June Maguire.

‘Mrs Mac’ has been a mainstay of the club for decades, working at club functions, at the gate at Leichhardt Oval, selling raffle tickets for our junior development programs, or packing bags and showbags for our club junior teams and development days.

She was a regular at Balmain Leagues Club at Rozelle, and later Tigers Five Dock, always with a happy smiling face and happy to have a chat to patrons and staff about our great club.

June, along with her son Barry (Leichhardt Oval scoreboard attendant), was a recipient in the inaugural Gold Ribbon Awards in 2015, acknowledging the tireless efforts of our club’s fantastic volunteers.

Our Balmain Tigers Junior Representative Teams will wear black armbands against the Parramatta Eels in recognition of her wonderful service to our club.

They also paid respect to June at the Round Six home game at Leichhardt Oval, wearing black armbands & observing one minute’s silence prior to kick off in the Harold Matthews clash.

Our deepest sympathies are with Barry & the rest of the Maguire family at this time.

RIP Mrs Mac – you will be dearly missed by all at our club.
